How do the places we call home relate to personal identity?
Artist and filmmaker Kate Flurrie spent five months exploring the places that she and her family have called home - from the wilds of the Scottish Highlands to a demolished Manchester estate - and thinking about the strong impression these landscapes and buildings have left on her own identity.
Through a series of films, photos and sounds, Kate looks at how we navigate important physical places in our memory. What happens when places do not exist anymore, or change so radically that our memories become archives? How can those changes affect the way we understand ourselves?
A discussion will follow this work-in-progress event.
Think Tank Live events start with a performance or presentation from our featured artist, followed by a Q&A session hosted by our Artistic Director, Robin Deacon. Stick around afterwards for drinks and chat.
