Madeleine Botet de Lacaze, “What really fascinates me is when one reaches a point in life when your mind says yes but your body doesn’t respond, when even though your mind says ‘yes do it’, the body stands paralysed. It’s an ephemeral limit, intangible, we don’t see it but it is there, inside. A personal limit, which draws us to repeat what we already know. However, once we pass that line and challenge that limit something changes within us.”

In an intimate climate a tension is created by Madeleine’s body and the image of her body, both creating a specific action. There is an emotional dialogue between the two (body and image) which connects with the audience in a shared live moment. This new work is definitely a piece to experience.

Madeleine Botet de Lacaze is an Argentinean artist based in London. Her background was in Film and Photography until she came to London to do a Masters Degree inPerformance Art. Since then her work has changed completely as she started to perform, doing one to one performance pieces in which she engages with the audience in a mutual emotional transformation.
