The title of this film comes from a long standing feud between my mum and my aunt over who could make the bigger and better Yorkshire puddings. For a long time my aunt was in the lead, until my mum riffled though her sister’s baking tins and realised all she needed was a bigger tin to level the playing field. I talked to my nana, my aunt, my mum, my sister and my cousins. I asked about their lives, their perspective of the role of women and their relationship with their mothers and daughters. This is my family and this is how they see their lives. There are contradictory views, beautiful synchronicity and raw teenage insight.

As an artist, Lucy wants to concentrate on the things she is passionate about. She finds herself confused by society around her. Angered by capitalism and frustrated gender politics, Lucy’s work mirrors these sentiments and questions human nature and social order.
