I try to visualise or capture time within my practice, using actions and materials that will leave traces. I use materials that change themselves like a candle or ice or objects that can change other surfaces like lead or bleach. I will perform with these objects, often with minimal movement or repetitive actions, to create marks over time.
Emma Dixon is an interdisciplinary artist currently living in London. Her work is mainly but not exclusively performance art. She also works with photography, video, installation and mark making, but generally in conjunction with performance. She studied fine art at Winchester School of Art, graduating in 2011.
