Tonight Matthew I am going to be…making an entrance and heading straight for the exit.

How to Avoid Making an Entrance of Yourself makes use of objects, items and memories from past performances to illustrate the performer’s thoughts on her current situation. Uttered from within the wings, at the point of entry, this is an antidote to the bombastic introductory pre-ambles of Dermot O’Leary of Colchester on X-Factor before a ‘special guest’ performance. A series of unashamed ‘one-liner’ visual occurrences expose the self-doubt and vulnerability of the performer who considers the audiences’  perceptions of her endeavours as massively important.
