PERFORMED AS A NOCTURNE FROM SUNDOWN TO SUNRISE

CHANT (Cleanse) is coming of age, it is the ridding of youth. It is done with little emotion or ceremony. It happens in the background. It is messy and uninvited. The performer forms his likeness around himself with wool and clay, before washing himself; the audience a malleable entity. CHANT (Cleanse) is a durational performance taking place across 14 hours and 17 minutes. Audience members are invited to come and go freely and spend any or all of this time with the work.

Robert Hardaker is a UK based performance artist, his works aim to trigger a collective subconscious through the use of everyday materials. He has performed at SPILL Festival, Tempting Failure, Circuit and Little Wolf Parade.
