Steve Slater Joins Pacitti Company and SPILL Festival as Senior Producer

Following an international search across a very high calibre field, Pacitti Company are thrilled to welcome Steve Slater to the team as Senior Producer. Steve joins us from Aberdeen, having previously been Senior Producer at Tramway in Glasgow for 14 years.

A fine arts graduate and an artist of performance and film/installation, Steve also spent 4 years as a special advisor for the Dance and Drama departments at the Scottish Arts Council and was a founding member of the Arts Council England funded ‘Guardians of Doubt’. As a participant in the British Council’s ‘Cultural Leadership International’ programme 2009/10, Steve formed his own company – TACTICAL A.U. to develop, support and advance the artistic ambitions of artists in the UK and abroad.

Steve says, “Working with Pacitti Company and Robert opens up a fantastic new chapter in my artistic career, one that will be both hugely exciting and creatively rewarding. Pacitti Company is at the forefront of making art that is perceived as “difficult” and “experimental”, accessible and attainable to everyone – It will be a joy to work with Robert and the company on realising and building upon this vision for SPILL and the Think Tank programme. I can’t wait to get started!”

Robert Pacitti says, ‘I am delighted that Steve is joining us. I have the utmost respect for him and the years he spent programming Tramway were hugely inspirational across the whole of the UK. It’s a great development for the next phase of Pacitti Company and SPILL, putting Ipswich ever more firmly on the map of exciting contemporary culture.”

Steve takes up his new role and life in Ipswich from June.
