IMAGINED TOUCH: THE INSTALLATION

TACTILE SIGN GUIDES

SPILL Festival of Performance Tactile Guide Opportunity from Pacitti Company on Vimeo.

SPILL Festival of Performance and Jodee Mundy Collaborations are looking for Tactile Sign Guides to participate in Imagined Touch. The role of the Tactile Sign Guide is to guide and communicate with the Imagined Touch installation audience using BSL skills. Theatre experience is great but not necessary.

About the Installation

Imagined Touch: The Installation is an experience that explores living in a world without sight or sound. Under the direction of Jodee Mundy, this work has been created in collaboration with Deafblind women, Michelle Stevens and Heather Lawson and artists Jen Hector, Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey to create an immersive experience where audiences enter into a metaphorical world of the Deafblind. Wearing goggles and headphones that alter and restrict light and sound, and through intensified touch and tactile communication, the audience experience Heather and Michelle’s stories in a profoundly different sensory environment. Fifteen audience members (maximum) enter the installation every half hour.
